A little report on the Archives Portal Europe @ DH2012

So, last week (July 19, 2012) the Archives Portal Europe has been presented at the Digital Humantities conference DH2012 as part of the session "Facilitating Research through Social-Document Networks".

There were about 50 participants from a variety of academic backgrounds who followed the talks on the Social Networks and Archival Context (SNAC) project, the project data.bnf.fr of the National Library of France and the Archives Portal Europe and joined the discussion after the presentations.
Emphasis was placed on the resources made available via the three projects and on how the projects can facilitate research by not only providing innovative access to these resources, but also by implicitly (and explicitly) providing access to the socio-historical contexts in which the resources were created.

You can watch the whole session here.
The lecture on the APE starts at 40:00 min. Enjoy!
