D6.6 Second analysis report: Applying Web 2.0 solutions in archival applications

This deliverable consists of two parts. The first part provides an overview of a survey carried out among European national archives in regard to Web 2.0 technologies and user groups. The second part, Applying User Oriented Tools in Archival Applications, draws on the recommendations made by the survey respondents and describes the tools and functionalities which were most recommended for implementation in Archives Portal Europe.

 

Interviews with Dutch APE institution managers

On the 18th of March 2013 Wim van Dongen, APEx country manager for The Netherlands, organised a first 'hands-on' workshop to get Dutch institution managers acquainted with the Archives Portal Europe's Dashboard using the Content Checker. Afterwards he handed them over their Dashboard accounts on the Archives Portal Europe's production environment, where they started to upload and manage their own content.
In July 2013 Ivo Zandhuis, a Dutch independant consultant for digital access to cultural heritage information, conducted a series of interviews with the first active Dutch APE institution managers, asking them about their experiences, which were very positive. He summarised these interviews in an article in "Archievenblad", the monthly magazine of the Dutch KVAN (Koninklijke Vereniging van Archivarissen in Nederland), the Royal Association of Archivists in The Netherlands:

Introduction on the APE projects and portal in Dutch
