October 17-18, 2012: The APE@Austrian Archives in Europe, Vienna (AT)

The Archives Portal Europe will be a main topic with 3 lectures and 1 workshop within the conference Austrian Archives in Europe at the Austrian State Archives in Vienna (AT).

The conference Austrian Archives in Europe will not only give an overview on the participation of Austrian archives in three major EU projects but furthermore outline the prospects resulting from these associations. Essential topics will firstly be the assessment of current positions and potentials and secondly the development of perspectives of how the archives can position themselves within the international archival landscape.

The Austrian State Archives as national representative within the Archives Portal Europe consortium will inform in particular on the most recent developments and the possibilities of participation for Austrian archives.

Besides one lecture on "The Archives Portal Europe: Status Quo, aims and possibilities of participation" and another on "Technical tools and generel frameworks", there will furthermore there be an Archives Portal Europe-workshop on standards and tutorials on how to upload content to the portal.
